1980s Yamaha RBX500AF Fretless Electric Bass

This one was just in for a setup and new battery but I had to share simply because it's so fun! This was built at the height of shred-meets-jazz design choices and there's so much to talk about here -- the translucent red finish, the six-bolt neck attachment, deep cutaways with contouring, futuristic-looking pickups, bizarre "shelf on a slant" bridge adjustment design, aggressive headstock shape -- it's got all the stuff!

Clearly, I owe the bass a couple of spare knobs before we hand it back to its owner, too.
