1990s Unmarked 1/2 Violin
This is second in a pair of fractional violins needed for a local family. We keep a store of budget fractional violin options upstairs and then fix-up (at cost) whatever is needed for local students as the requests come in. This lets the families escape from the rental plans which cost a bundle and usually feature instruments that play a little wonky.
This one is unmarked but likely Korean and from the late '90s. It has a good, warm sound (for its size) and plays like a champ.
Manny planed the fingerboard, fit a bridge and new strings, and fit a tailpiece and whatnot as well. It's solid spruce in the top, solid maple in the back and sides, and the fingerboard (as on a lot of student instruments) is ebonized maple.
