1920s Washburn-style (Tonk?) Flatback Mandolin

This cute little thing is almost certainly a Regal-made instrument of the sort they made under the Washburn brand for Tonk in the '30s as it has a set, dovetailed neck joint rather than the usual doweled Regal neck joint. All the other appointments, scale, etc. are otherwise very similar to normal Regal-made instruments.

It's got a solid spruce top over solid mahogany sides. Work included a neck reset, crack repairs to the upper bout near the fretboard extension, a level/dress of the frets, fitting of a replacement bridge (taller), and setup work. I also installed a K&K pickup.

It's now winging its way back to its owner but I was quite pleased with how it felt and sounded when it as finished -- clean and bright but with a nice, folksy, warm bottom.
