2006 Fender American Vintage ‘62 Jaguar Electric Guitar

Overview: This well-traveled, well-loved Jaguar is in a color that's harder to find (Ice Blue Metallic) and that's faded and yellowed to a lovely icy teal color as it's aged. It has a good, somewhat aggressive sound (it really does remind me of early-'60s Jag pickups before they get brighter) that I've been enjoying while handling it and it looks superb. We've made the mute useful with a fresh pad of foam and so it's ready for some '60s chunka-clunka sounds, too.

Repairs included: Ancel gave it a level/dress of the frets, cleaning, and setup work -- including adding some bridge post ferrules that lock it more in place (something I always do, too) and that helps with tuning stability. I added a ground to the tailpiece and did a little extra tweaking. It's playing well and ready to go!

Condition notes: The finish has been dinged and scratched here and there and shows some weather-check. The "flag" sticker is still on the neck plate and the back of the guitar, apparently, had some tape on it at some point because it has discolored patches of finish. The whammy arm, says the owner, is a replacement. The wiring all appears original to my eye. The worst part of this guitar is that, while the neck adjusts "straight," on the bass side, the treble side of the neck remains in a hair of upbow which means I can't dial the action in perfect on the treble side without a little bizzy-buzz up the neck. Players with a light touch will not notice this, however.

It comes with: It has a nice, G&G, hard tweed case.
