1900s Kloz-Labeled German 4/4 Violin
Overview: This is a lower-to-mid-grade, German-made violin with a faux-Kloz label. It has the usual spruce over maple build and an also-typical, ebonized maple fingerboard. It has a plethora of old repairs (and new repairs), but its main benefits are its easy playability, a one-piece back, and its warm, woody, old-timey voice. It sounds especially good on double-stops and the like.
Repairs included: We'd worked-on and sold this instrument in the middle of last year, but apparently shipping to its destination must have been unhappy because after it had arrived, it slowly came-apart on its owner in storage before he even had a chance to use it. When we got it back, it looked like it had gotten too hot in transit and many of the seams (ones we hadn't fixed before) had opened-up along the back, causing the neck to pull forward, among other things. Suffice to say, Manny has recently gone-through and repaired all of these problems and it's now been stable for some weeks after string-up and is ready to serve.

Condition notes: The tailpiece, chinrest, pegs, and bridge are replacements. It has a variety of old crack repairs on the top and back (all cleated). The neck had broken free of the back and joint at some point and a gloppy repair (complete with odd, brown-colored stain, and a cute pyramidal pin) had been done in that area. Manny fixed that up last time and it's held-up just fine (as have all the cracks). Per the usual for an old violin, there's plenty of wear and tear throughout the finish but it does have a handsome, lived-in look.
It comes with: I will include a case of some sort.
