1930s Juzek 4/4 Czech Violin
This is my buddy Forrest's "main squeeze" violin which he left for us to compare its setup to another's with. It's a nice instrument, with fancily-figured maple throughout the back and sides, a glowing, amber-like finish style, plenty of honest wear, and a good, round, even sound that engages quickly with the bow.
I'm pretty sure it's a late-'20s or early-'30s Juzek, judging by the label and style of build. Forrest had geared pegs fit at the headstock which are a huge improvement (at least to me) over standard wood pegs and, more or less, make the fine tuners redundant.
