1964 Fender Musicmaster Electric Guitar
These first-style Musicmasters are always so cool! Lately, they've also come into their own in the jazzy scene via some conspicuous owners. This one's brightly-colored in a translucent red finish and has completely original features save for the frets which Jose freshly replaced just last week.
It's a great-looking guitar and I think anyone would be happy to enjoy one of these. I do remember when they were just written-off as "student" guitars, though my friend Butch (who recently passed) was the first to turn me on to them outside of odd tunings when he presented one setup with 56w-13 gauges on it. The heavier gauges made the tension feel "right" and sound "chunky" on the short scale for standard tuning and I took to it right away.
