1930s Harmony/Schmidt Stella Parlor Guitar
Overview: This instrument likely dates to 1939 or 1940 -- just after Harmony bought the Oscar Schmidt factory's leavings and brand names and started employing them on their own instruments. It's a Harmony-made product and has a Harmony body, though the neck is salvage from the old Oscar Schmidt factory. It has the classic Harmony "Idento" tailpiece and a Harmony-scale fretboard (24 1/8") as well. The medium-brown stain and general vibe give it the look of a Schmidt-made Stella from just 5 or so years before this was produced -- especially considering the Schmidt soundhole rosette decal!
As per the usual for related instruments (the later H927/H929 Stella models used this same body design), it has a woody, bluesy tone that's very suitable for fingerpicking or "thumping" choppy chordal stuff. The neck is pretty big and so you've got to like that feel if you're wanting to take on a guitar like this.
Repairs included: Ancel gave it a neck reset, level/dress of the frets, side dots, made a new bridge, repaired seams and cracks, cleaned it up, and set it up. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

The seams have been reglued here and there and some on the back no longer match perfectly.
