1967 Rickenbacker 360F Mapleglo Hollowbody Electric Guitar
This big, old, beautiful, blonde guitar is a model that's exceedingly-rare. It's got so much presence in and of itself that it's hard to look away from it! Checker-ish binding? Yep! Mapleglo showing off all of that figured maple? Yep! Classy, deco-jazzy looks, wide body, controls mounted to the top instead of a pickguard? Yep! Stupidly-fast, stupidly-curvy, Ricki neck? Yep! I cannot complain one bit.
Ancel gave this an excellent level/dress of the frets and setup work and I added a ground to the tailpiece, but that was all this gorgeous thing needed. The (new) owner is a friend of ours and it was very exciting to have him bring it in for show and tell and a "glo-up."
Aside from the fresh ground wire, it's completely original throughout. The neck is even thinner than normal for a Ricki and it has a very steep, 6" or so radius to the board and the usual, Gibson-like, 24 3/4" or so scale length.
