1970s Cortley (Japan) Drum Set

Apparently, these imported, Cortley-branded drums are of a variety that sold under a number of different brand names through the '70s. This set dates to the late '70s and includes a kick, two toms, a snare, and hardware that is mostly original. A nice cowbell is mounted over the kick and the owner has included a set of Zildjian S cymbals, stands, and hi-hat.

The two toms have pretty ancient hydraulic heads on them and the snare has an old top and replaced bottom. The kick has a newer Evans head while the back appears original. The kit also includes the fun old throne, a pair of sticks, a sizzle for one of the cymbals, and a set drum key (very useful as it allows adjustment of everything).

Sasha (who plays it in the video) set it all up, tuned it all up, and put it all together from his collection of Cortley gear (he bought it as a set originally). He also notes that the weakest link are the kick pedal and hi-hat pedal which definitely are vintage in feel and action...
