2000s Crescent P-Style Electric Bass
We've had one defunct Crescent P-bass living upstairs for a couple years, now -- in black, with a trashed neck but decent "everything else." I recently bought this same-era, metallic-red Crescent P from a local who buys-up storage lockers. It was in a sorry state but the neck was healthy and the pickups were fine. There were stickers and grime plastered all over it, the wiring harness was shot, and half the tuners were damaged beyond use. It's obviously lived through a teenager's use... which is all-plus, I say!
I spent a good bit of time cleaning it up, fit a fresh wiring harness with proper components, swapped-in tuners from the "bad" Crescent upstairs, and set it up with a set of 95w-40w extra-light strings. Post-ministrations, it's very happy, relatively lightweight, and sounds excellent -- punchy and round just as you'd want it to be. The neck is on the wide side at the nut and it has a flatter board profile as compared to a typical Fender-style feel.

For kicks, below is a pic of a Squier Affinity P-Bass that wandered into the shop as a gutted body and neck.
Between its husk, a spare pickguard from our parts-bins, and pickups, neckplate+screws, knobs, string tree, strap buttons, and bridge from the defunct Crescent P in black, plus a fresh wiring harness, I was able to get it up and running, too. It's sometimes shocking how decent Squier necks are even after a couple decades or so of neglect...
