1963 Martin 00-16C Classical Guitar
A long-term customer of ours brought this in and had me put it a little forward in his pile of messes to clean-up, har-de-har-har!
I love Martin's "folk classical" guitars and the ones from the '50s and early '60s are the best. This has a little shorter scale than the late '60s and early '70s versions and has a more-relaxed, sweeter vibe and sound.
It needed a bunch -- a neck reset, fret level/dress, patches to holes on its sides, and hairline crack repairs all over -- but it's turned-out a sweetheart after work. Everything is original on it except for the tuners. It had some cheeseball '90s classical machines on it and I replaced them with period Waverly units meant for steel-string (which I managed to fit to this with the help of ferrules added to the middle of the headstock). The original tuners looked much the same but had wider aluminum shafts.
Anyhow, I'm a fan and I adore how well-loved and traveled this particular guitar is.
