1995 Fender Mexico Squier Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar

Overview: I traded for this cool old Strat recently. I'm a big fan of these "Squier Series" Fender Mexico instruments from the mid0-'90s and have had a few over the years. They're every bit as good as "the real thing" from the time, save that the headstock decal is simpler and they're loaded with magnets-on-the-bottom pickups. Does that hurt the sound? Obviously not -- this has its stock wiring harness and it sounds great. The neck is also on the quick and easy, sort-of early-'70s feel.

Repairs included: I leveled and dressed the frets, installed new tuners to replace the junky originals (these feel like Gotohs or actual Klusons, they're NOS), fit a mint pickguard in place of the original white (the original guard and whammy bar come with it), cleaned it up, and set it up. I currently have the whammy blocked with a pine shim so it's functioning like a hardtail bridge at the moment, though I can set it up however the next owner wants.

Condition notes: It has various nicks, dings, and scratches throughout the body but they don't detract much. They just make it look friendly! The pickguard is a replacement from my parts-bins (though clean) and the tuners are a big upgrade compared to the originals with the look of old Klusons. It's otherwise original throughout. There are a second set of screwholes under the backplate cover. There are two tiny pinholes in the front of the headstock (patched) near the tuners. The bridge hardware has some tarnish and all of the old plastic bits have aged to a nice creamy color.

It comes with: It comes with its whammy bar and original pickguard and the option of a gigbag or rectangular hard case.
