2000s Yamaha CPX-15E Compass Egyptian Motif Cutaway Acoustic/Electric 000-Size Guitar

Overview: The made-in-Japan Compass series was intended to be a Takamine-like acoustic/electric set of guitars ready for the rough life of gigging and hauling-about from stage to stage. This one has a fancy preamp and pickup system, cutaway body, adjustable-height saddle, a fast neck, and oodles of style. It has Egyptian-motif inlays in the fretboard and rosette, a solid spruce top, and super-curly mahogany back and sides.

It's not the loudest acoustic in the room but its plugged-in performance is good and it has a balanced, easy sound. This particular guitar has been gigged for a long, long time and while it's been cared-for, it does show its age a bit in the hardware and at the bridge.

Repairs included: I gave it a level/dress of the frets, cleaned it up a bit, and set it up. It's playing bang-on and is ready to go.

Condition notes: There are some small scratches and dings here and there throughout the body and some pickwear at the (clear) pickguard. The finish has been dulled-down in some spots from contact/playing. The hardware all shows a little age-wear. Overall, though, it looks nice and appears to be original throughout.

It comes with: It has a nice old hard case that's rough on the outside but very practical.
