1950s Silvertone (Danelectro U2) Semihollow Electric Guitar

I can't recall what the Silvertone (Sears) model designation this has, but this is a Danelectro U2 in Silvertone livery. It's mostly-original except for the pickguard and strap button on the upper-bout. I love the chimey, lively, folk-rock sound these things get. Danelectros are some of my favorite electric guitars and I get a small thrill every time we have old ones in the shop.

A friend of the shop brought this in for work and it wound-up getting a refret (thanks, Jose), recut for better compensation at its saddle, cleaning, and setup work. It plays spot-on and looks killer. The new frets give it a much better overall feel and it's nice to see the Brazilian rosewood in the fretboard really pop after getting a board plane and buff-up.
