1997 Martin D-1 Dreadnought Guitar
Overview: D-1s of this era were some of Martins first, true, "value" guitars of the modern era -- built with solid spruce tops, solid mahogany backs, and ply mahogany sides. They sound, handle, and feel like D-18s and the simplified bracing often sounds a little "wider" than their upscale brethren, though a little less focused and clean. They make excellent chord-chucking, backup, singer-songwriter machines because of that.
Repairs included: I gave this one a level/dress of the frets, repair of a hairline crack in the top, cleaning, and setup work. It's playing spot-on.
