2024 Novo Serus J 3-Pickup Green Metal Flake Electric Guitar

Overview: Every single Novo we've had through the shop has been a winner. I don't know what pixie dust they're using over there, but each one has immediately felt like a lived-in, loved guitar of the old Fender variety from the moment it's picked-up. Pains seem to be taken to keep the weight down (this is a fairly large body with a lot of gear but it tops-out around 7 lbs) and I've noticed that each body outline is really well-thought-out to put the neck in your left hand "just so" while sitting down and jamming. I never feel like I have to over-extend when I'm playing them or that I'm "squished-in." The question comes down to which Novo is for me?

This one, with a heavy, silvery-green, metal-flake finish is just outrageous. Combined with the figured maple in the fretboard and neck and a trio of Lollar P90s and you've got one heck of a glam superstar guitar. The Mastery bridge and tail are also nice kit to have. It comes with a second pickguard in the same metal and finish as the control plate, too, though we thought the pearloid was very handsome set against the inlay in the neck.

It has simple controls -- master tone and volume -- and then two 3-ways. The bass horn 3-way is normal neck-both-bridge in operation. The lower one is down (adds middle pickup to first 3-way positions), middle (no middle pickup), up (only middle pickup).

Repairs included: It just got a tiny bit of setup work, though previously we'd fit a different bridge pickup for the owner (he wanted to try a minibucker). We've since reversed that and put the original back in. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.
