1914 Gibson A “Pumpkin” Archtop Mandolin
Overview: It's a teens-era Gibson A! Who doesn't like these? Celtic and old time players make bee-lines for them whenever we have them in the shop and the sweet, woody sound these guys make is "mandolin sound 2" to a lot of peoples' ears after F-style, bluegrass pop sounds.
This one is in excellent shape (no cracks!) and Jose didn't need to do all that much to get it playing like a champ. The pumpkin-top finish looks grand and it's still got its original tailpiece cover and celluloid pickguard.
Repairs included: I think Sarah may have leveled and dressed the frets. Jose reglued some back/side seams and then fit the new bridge and set it all up. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: We've swapped the bridge for a new, adjustable one (for ease of use) but it's otherwise original throughout. There are some slightly-misaligned back/side seams that got reglued and there are the usual mild-to-medium scratches and nicks throughout the finish, but it's overall in great shape. It's pretty rare to have the original pickguard extant on these guys.
It comes with: It's got its original hard case and I'm pretty sure we stuck the original bridge back in there, too.
