2008 Gibson Flying V Faded Electric Guitar w/Active EMG Pickups

Overview: This is a moderately-used Flying V Faded (satin finish, stripped-down looks) that's stock save for a pair of EMG humbuckers and an active, EMG wiring harness. It has plenty of clean gain on tap, that's for sure -- and it's also on the lighter-weight side.

Vs have always been sort-of divisive among guitarists but the reality is that they're just plain fun. I've handled so many instruments that I have ceased to have much of an aesthetic grounding anymore and when I see a V or Explorer wander into the shop they just make me smile because at least they've chosen a direction and aren't timid about it.

This one's in good order save for a truss rod that, though tightened-down nice and firm, does not adjust all upbow out of the neck. It still has a hair of relief in first position. I ameliorated most of the wonkiness through a level and dress of the frets and it plays as-normal (it's the sort-of thing that if I didn't tell you it was there, you wouldn't notice), but the fact of the matter is that there will always be just a tiny touch of relief in the neck tuned to pitch that does not adjust-out. One-piece mahogany necks can be like that, though...

Repairs included: I gave it a level/dress of the frets, cleaned it up a bit, and set it up.

Condition notes: The pickups and wiring harness are EMG-supplied and non-original. It's got a 9V battery for the active preamp under the pickguard and near the control cluster. As noted, the truss rod does not fully adjust the neck's relief. There are numerous small dings/scratches on the sides/ends of the body (near the two tails) from normal use and mild usewear throughout, otherwise. An extra washer or two were added at the truss rod access in an attempt to give more thread to dial the rod further. I also had to lightly remove a bit of material in the truss access area to make it easier to get normal wrenches on the rod's nut.

It comes with: It's got its original gigbag.
