2013 Fender Custom Shop Whittington Offset Telecaster Electric Guitar
Overview: This is a Fender Custom Shop instrument that was made by an employee of said shop (Mr. Whittington) for himself. It's an offset Tele-style instrument with an outrageously-figured koa top and highly-figured koa back. The hardware is all gold-plated, the neck has lots of figure in it as well, and the pickups sound classic and full.
It has one of those "2010s big necks" -- meaning it's a bigger one, almost like playing an old Kay from the '40s. I remember this was a very popular thing at the time. I don't have any trouble getting around on it but when I shifted up near the board extension area in the demo I definitely threw myself a bit as I wasn't expecting it (having just played a half dozen new-style Fender necks before that demo).
It's a handsome guitar, made from premium materials and parts, and it's been solid for its current owner since he got it many moons ago. It's under 7 lbs, too.
Repairs included: I gave it a quick setup and minor adjustments. It was pretty-much dialed-in when it arrived but I'm fussy! It's playing spot-on and ready to go.
