2018 Alvarez AD60-12 12-String Dreadnought Guitar

Overview: This is a boring, practical, dreadnought-size, 12-string guitar. It's solid in the top and ply in the back and sides and sounds quite good. It has a spiffy, pearl-trim rosette and stripped-down looks, otherwise. The neck is vaguely '50s-style in feel and heft. A full set of sealed tuners makes it easier to keep in tune.

Did I say boring? I guess it's not that boring! Alvarez gear has been good value for a long time, now. This is the same. This one is also slightly oddball in that it needed a new bridge when it came in. I made this one, Jacobi fit it, and then Jose did the routing of the saddle slot, fit a new saddle, strung it up, and set it up.

I asked him to do my preference for 12-string pinholes -- only 6 holes but with 2 slots each to allow 2 strings through each pinhole. There are old Stella 12-strings from '20s with this stringing pattern and I like it a lot -- efficient and keeps even back-angle on the saddle from all the strings (important for balanced tone).

Repairs included: It got a new bridge, new (fully-compensated) saddle, and a setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.
