1967 Fender Coronado II Hollowbody Electric Guitar

Overview: So -- this is a '67 Coronado that has a same-period neck swap (pretty sure it's a '68). The story is that the owner had two Coronados and he liked the neck from the other one better (it's refretted) so put it on this one. In the end he sold the other one to a mutual friend of ours with the original neck from this guitar (and the much-more-beat body of the other) and now this one is here for sale.

It's otherwise an "original period Fender" save for my alteration of the bridge base (I set it up with TOM-style risers rather than the fussy Fender bridge feet that move-around like crazy). Does it handle beautifully? Oh yes, and the whammy on these (with their spring-steel mechanism) is one of my favorite "feels" in whammy builds ever -- a lot like a Jazzmaster but even smoother. Does it look great? Well, duh! The red finish is translucent and has a hair of luster/sparkle to it, if I'm not crazy. And those long, skinny, f-holes... yesssss...

Repairs included: Previously, I'd cleaned-out the wiring and refit the bridge for better tuning stability and practicality. I'd also set the guitar up. This time around, Jacobi gave it a level/dress of the frets and a fresh setup. It's playing spot-on and is ready to roll.

Condition notes: The pickguard is missing. The neck is period but not original to this guitar. It features almost entirely-original components throughout, though I've modified the way the bridge sits, as mentioned, with TOM-style threaded posts. One strap button is a replacement. There's finish weather-checking throughout. The finish has small nicks, dings, and scratches here and there throughout. The frets are replacements and needed a level/dress but still have a bunch of life left in them and feel much more substantial than the original, period Fender wire.
