1958 Guild T100 Custom Hollowbody Electric Guitar
This is a slightly different iteration of a T100. It features DeArmond pickups rather than the standard Franz ones and, before I corrected the factory's ill-doings, a quirky-as-heck wiring harness. I think they intended it for to be some sort of a "deluxe" circuit, but what it did was turn the pickups into quiet, muddy things. It was the reason the owner wanted to sell it, methinks, because otherwise the guitar was definitely tres cool.
Anyhow, after a wiring harness swap (Gibson-style harness with 500k pots and orange drop caps), this old thing opened right up and sounds superb. Sarah had already done some work previously (a level/dress of the frets and a setup) and it got stuck in a holding pattern until I could get to the wiring. We also recompensated the (non-original) bridge topper for plain-G stringing, too.
The plan now is for this to go home with its owner. Will it come back? Maybe! He's Mercurial about guitars -- but aren't we all? For what it's worth, though, I did enjoy this beautiful blonde beastie haunting the shop. It's a winner.
