2010s AXL Badwater 1216 Copper LP-Style Electric Guitar

A friend of mine traded this in towards work due from last year and all it needed was a mild cleaning, new strings, and a setup. I hadn't heard of AXL guitars before (but I'm pretty green as far as anything post-'80s goes), but this one's build is pretty dang nice for the price point these initially sold at.

It's a Les Paul-style guitar with a set neck and solid mahogany body. The scale length, neck feel, and general handling and sound are all very familiar to anyone who's played '70s LPs. The top edge and fretboard are bound and the finish is a satin clearcoat over a brown stain. This particular model comes from the factory with "aged" copper-colored hardware and it seems like said hardware was only used on this model for a short run.

While it came from the factory with some "relic'd" appointments, my buddy put some good pickwear near the pickup surrounds and plenty of extra scratches and finish wear and tear here and there throughout from actual use. I honestly don't know what's real and what's "faux" at this point. It's missing its original pickguard but everything else is there, otherwise.

Repairs included: mild cleaning, restring, and a setup.

Setup notes: action is perfect at 1/16" overall at the 12th fret, it's strung with 46w-10 gauges, and the neck is straight and has a working truss rod.

Condition notes: missing original pickguard, replacement pickup selector switch tip (black), and now some extra wear and tear overall on the body. It's looking good!
